If you asked your parents to tell you their love story it would probably be a short one. We met at a high school dance, your father asked me to dance, and so we did. We graduated from high school and got married two weeks later. That was the timeline of love thirty years ago.
Today we prefer to spend time finding ourselves before looking for someone else to share our lives with.
Most who know me are well aware that I am a dog lover; I often find my clients connect with me through their own love of animals. However, it may not be a dog that they love... sometimes, it could even be a pig.
Let me introduce Sumac! While I have met many pets over the years, I have only met one pig and he is incredible. If you don't think animals have personalities you should spend a day with this adorable man. He loves popcorn, hanging out in the yard and cuddles on the couch with mom and dad. His parents describe him as a "permanent two-year-old" so he is certainly a handful. But what's not to love?
The day was like many weddings before it, lots of people, an anxious bride, an excited groom and the uncertainty of how weather can affect the day. Silver shoes resembling cinderella's glass slipper, deep red boutonnieres for the men, a three-tier cake and a candy buffet created a fairy tale day for the couple.
However, mother nature forgot to RSVP and brought rain for the day. Many people say that rain on your wedding day is a good luck start for marriage, however, when it's your wedding, good luck goes out the window with a strong preference for sunshine.
Never forget that loves happens when you least expect it... you might just find yourself in Ireland one day taking the first step toward eternal happiness and love.
I don’t know if i was supposed to talk about why i was inspired or what specifically inspired me. But this was something so personal and it affects everyone so differently that it is sometimes very hard to put into words.
When we step away from the noise, admire the snowflakes and listen to the crunch of the snow beneath our boots we are able to realize all that is beautiful in our world. Jess and Stephen took a stroll in the cooler temperatures and found themselves feeling nothing but the warmth of love. The Niagara Falls skyline in the background and the raw branches framing them, Jess and Stephen stand out as a beautiful couple ready to take the next step in the journey that is true love.
I was pleasantly surprised by the increase in the number of grooms attending the event. A wedding is a special day for two people so I love seeing both of them taking part in the planning process. I felt an overwhelming connection to those that stopped by. Couples looking to have their ceremony outdoors, wanting an organic influence and stumbling on the perfect person for the occasion... me!
Building a business is a commitment like few others. I have put my heart and soul into my work. I love what I do and recognize how blessed I am to do something so special, while making a living doing it.
As I look out at the beautiful fields full of grape vines I am humbled by how lucky it is share in this special day. A grape vine is nothing more than the simplest beginning of what will one day be a fine merlot. Stephanie and Justin are celebrating the simplest beginning of two lives becoming one. This is the start of their marriage, their commitment to one another and the first step on a long journey. While they aren't on a path to a shelf in our local LCBO they are about to take on more tears, more laughs and more love that they will experience together.
