When Two Grapes Become One, Steph + Justin: St Catharines, Eco-Friendly Wedding Photographer

Quite often I find myself shooting weddings at one of the many local vineyards Niagara Region has to offer. 

On September 21, 2012  at Hernder Estate Wines in St Catharines, Steph + Justin tied the knot. A vineyard is such a beautiful backdrop for a wedding; not only does it offer incredible scenery, but the symbolism of the setting is something that always brings a tear to my eye.

As I look out at the beautiful fields full of grape vines I am humbled by how lucky it is share in this special day.  A grape vine is nothing more than the simplest beginning of what will one day be a fine merlot.  Stephanie and Justin are celebrating the simplest beginning of two lives becoming one. This is the start of their marriage, their commitment to one another and the first step on a long journey. While they aren't on a path to a shelf in our local LCBO they are about to take on more tears, more laughs and more love that they will experience together. 

We often toast an occasion with a glass of wine. Pouring ourselves a glass after a hard day, or enjoying a glass with good friends while catching up on lost time. The vineyard is truly the beginning of many long walks through this crazy thing we call life. Next time you enjoy a glass think of how it made it's way to you and how we are not that different than the grape that took that first step.
