Oahu, Hawaii Destination Wedding Photographers | Karlisle + Dan
Often times many businesses will put out a "‘Best Of’ article at the beginning of the new year. This has been a great way for us to look back and reflect on all the incredible people we have met, moments we have captured, and events we have been able to partake in. But reflecting on 2020 in such a way feels not possible, since there really were not many events to look back on. The few that we had we are of course, beyond thankful for, and happy to have been part of, but if 2020 taught me anything, it was that my mindset (and I am sure many others) needed a shift.
I got Saturdays with my son (oh, and Aaron too), and weeknights with my friends (within my bubble or socially distanced outdoor visits off course). And don’t get me wrong, I love my job more than most people probably should, but I have so much gratitude for the slow pace that was 2020. I hope that people took the time to slow down, really appreciate what they have, and truly understand what they need and want from life. That they take time to do the important things, but also not hesitate or delay them either. We need to learn to live our lives, and not just let the days pass us by, because after all, life is very short, and if we are not careful, can be even shorter.
So much love, gratitude, strength and thanks goes out to all our front-line workers for putting their lives at risk for us. I hope the rest of society shows you the utmost appreciation for all you do and have done during this pandemic.
Here is to a brighter tomorrow, and the ability to travel again, very, very soon! Please enjoy this wedding we were so lucky to photograph in Oahu, Hawaii.
